What happened

Forest River, Inc. is recalling certain 2016-2017 Surveyor recreational vehicles (model ORSVT247BHDS) manufactured between August 10, 2016, and September 13, 2016. The Federal Placard on these vehicles lists incorrect tire and rim specifications. The placard states the trailer has ST225/75R15D tires requiring 65 PSI on 15X6.0JJ rims, but the vehicles actually have ST205/75R14C tires that require 50 PSI on 14X5.5JJ rims. This discrepancy could cause owners to over-inflate the tires based on the incorrect placard information, which may result in premature tire degradation, tire blowouts, or reduced handling that increases crash risk.

Forest River will notify owners and dealers and provide a corrected Federal Placard at no charge. The recall began on November 18, 2016. Owners of affected vehicles should contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-642-3119 extension 205 and reference recall number 37-10132016-0256 to arrange for the replacement placard.
