What happened

Ferrara Fire Apparatus is recalling certain 2015-2016 Inferno, Igniter, Intruder, and Cinder fire trucks equipped with C20 and C21 split-shaft transmissions. These transmissions control power delivery to either the wheels or add-on equipment like water pumps. A component within the shift unit may be damaged, preventing the operator from switching power output between functions.

If the power output cannot be changed once the fire truck arrives at a scene, the vehicle may not be able to pump water to help extinguish fires, increasing the risk of injury. Ferrara will notify owners and replace the shift unit assembly, clevis pin, and retaining rings at no charge. Affected owners should contact Ferrara customer service at 1-225-567-7100 extension 3011.
