Honda is recalling certain 2016 Civic 2-Door vehicles manufactured between February 23, 2016, and May 20, 2016, because they may have a damaged LED side marker light circuit board inside the taillight assembly. When the side marker light does not function, other drivers may have difficulty seeing the vehicle, which increases the risk of a crash. The affected vehicles do not meet federal safety standards for vehicle lighting.
To remedy the problem, Honda will notify owners and dealers will inspect both taillight assemblies and replace them as necessary at no cost to the owner. The recall began on August 31, 2016. Owners of affected vehicles should contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138 and reference recall number KB8.
