2014 FOREST RIVER CHARLESTON; 2015 FOREST RIVER CHARLESTON; 2016 FOREST RIVER CHARLESTON
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Forest River is recalling certain 2014-2016 Charleston motorhomes manufactured between September 16, 2013, and December 10, 2015, and assembled on a Freightliner chassis. The throttle pedal position sensor on these vehicles may fail to return to zero, causing the engine brake to suddenly stop working without warning. This loss of engine braking reduces the vehicle's ability to decelerate, which could increase the risk of a crash.
Forest River will notify owners, and Daimler Trucks North America dealers will replace the pedal at no charge. The recall began on August 4, 2016. Owners should contact Daimler Trucks Customer Service Department at 1-800-547-8712 or email DTNA.Warranty.Campaigns@Daimler.com, and reference Forest River's recall number 40-06202016-0214.
