Kia is recalling certain 2006-2012 Kia Sedona vehicles that were manufactured between June 15, 2005, and August 14, 2012, and are registered in northern U.S. states and the District of Columbia where road salt is used. The front lower control arms in these vehicles may break due to corrosion from salt water exposure, which can result in loss of vehicle control and increase the risk of a crash.
Kia will notify owners and dealers will repair the vehicles at no charge. For 2006-2007 models, dealers will replace the front lower control arms. For 2008-2012 models, dealers will either replace the front lower control arms or apply additional anti-corrosion coating. The recall began on July 27, 2016. Affected owners should contact Kia at 1-800-333-4542 and reference recall number SC133.
