What happened

PACCAR Incorporated is recalling certain 2016 Kenworth W900 trucks manufactured between May 19, 2015, and December 21, 2015. These vehicles may experience a temporary loss of headlights when switching from low beam to high beam mode, which reduces driver visibility and increases crash risk.

Kenworth will notify owners of the recall. Dealers will alter the wiring harness to enable the high beams to illuminate at no cost to owners. Affected consumers should contact Kenworth customer service at 1-425-828-5000 and reference recall number 16KWA to arrange for the repair.

PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain model year 2016 Kenworth W900 trucks manufactured May 19, 2015, to December 21, 2015. The affected vehicles may have a temporary loss of headlights when being switched from low beam to high beam mode. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
