What happened

Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2015 Ford Transit vehicles equipped with specific Ricon wheelchair lift models manufactured between July 1, 2015, and October 30, 2015. The wheelchair lift platform can crack or separate from the vehicle due to damaged side plates or bearings that have shifted out of position in the link arms. If the platform separates and the vehicle doors are opened, the platform may fall onto the lift operator, creating a risk of injury.

According to the record, owners should contact National Van customer service at 1-800-527-7477 for more information about the recall, which began on June 15, 2016.
