What happened

Thor Motor Coach is recalling certain 2017 ACE and Road Bear Rental motorhomes manufactured between February 11, 2016, and March 9, 2016. The seat belt anchorages in the slide-out section may not be strong enough and could pull loose during a crash, which means they would not properly restrain occupants and could increase the risk of injury.

If you own one of these motorhomes, Thor Motor Coach will notify you about the recall. Dealers will install reinforcement brackets and plates at no charge. To arrange this repair or learn if your vehicle is affected, contact Thor Motor Coach customer service at 1-877-500-1020.

Hazard

If the seat belt anchorages pull loose in a crash, they will not properly restrain the occupant, increasing the risk of injury.

What should I do?

TMC will notify owners, and dealers will install reinforcement brackets, and plates, free of charge. The recall began on May 27, 2016. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-500-1020.

Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain model year 2017 ACE and Road Bear Rental motorhomes manufactured February 11, 2016, to March 9, 2016. The seat belt anchorages located in the slide out section may not meet the specified strength requirements, allowing them to pull loose during a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."
