What happened

Nissan is recalling certain 2016 Murano vehicles manufactured between December 17, 2015, and February 11, 2016, and certain 2016 Maxima vehicles manufactured between November 25, 2015, and February 12, 2016, that are equipped with an antilock braking system and Vehicle Dynamic Control. These vehicles may have a damaged O-ring in the ABS actuator that could reduce brake fluid pressure, making the vehicle take longer to stop and increasing crash risk.

Nissan will notify owners and replace the ABS actuator free of charge at authorized dealers. The recall began on May 16, 2016. Owners of affected vehicles should contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.
