What happened

Nissan is recalling certain 2015-2016 GT-R vehicles that were manufactured between February 24, 2014, and June 16, 2015, for sale in Puerto Rico. These vehicles have a Certification Label missing the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) and Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) information, which could allow an operator to overload the vehicle and increase the risk of a crash.

Nissan will notify owners of the recall, which began on December 23, 2015. Dealers will apply a corrected label to affected vehicles at no cost. Owners of affected vehicles should contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.

Hazard

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 GT-R vehicles manufactured February 24, 2014, to June 16, 2015 to be sold in Puerto Rico. The affected vehicles have a Certification Label that is missing the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) and Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) information. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."
