General Motors is recalling certain 2014-2016 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana incomplete vehicles with a 159-inch wheelbase that were manufactured between August 2, 2013, and January 30, 2016. These vehicles were shipped without a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), which is required by federal safety standards. Without this system, drivers will not receive alerts if their tires become under-inflated, which increases the risk of a crash.
GM will notify owners and install the necessary hardware and software to equip the vehicles with a functioning TPMS at no cost. The recall began on May 25, 2016. Owners of affected Chevrolet Express vehicles should contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, and owners of GMC Savana vehicles should contact GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782.
