What happened

Bugatti is recalling certain Veyron vehicles from model years 2006-2013, including the Veyron, Veyron Grand Sport, and Veyron Super Sport. The underbody aluminum reference plates that are used when lifting the vehicle may corrode and separate from the vehicle while it is being driven. If these plates detach and fall onto the road, they could strike another vehicle and potentially cause a crash.

Bugatti began notifying owners on May 26, 2016. To remedy the problem, dealers will rivet and seal the underbody aluminum reference plates at no cost to owners. Owners of affected vehicles should contact Bugatti at (805) 557-1050.

Hazard

Bugatti will notify owners, and dealers will rivet and seal the underbody aluminum reference plates, free of charge. The recall began on May 26, 2016. Owners may contact Bugatti at (805) 557-1050.
