What happened

Blue Bird Body Company is recalling certain model year 2011-2017 All American school buses manufactured between August 20, 2010, and December 16, 2015. The affected buses have seats positioned over the wheelhouse area near rear side emergency doors. In these buses, the rear legs of the seats may detach from the floor during a crash, which could prevent proper restraint of occupants wearing seat belts and increase their risk of injury.

To remedy this issue, Blue Bird will notify owners and dealers will replace the rear leg assembly at no charge. The recall began on April 19, 2016. Owners of affected buses should contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242 and reference recall number R16YM-SB.
