Transportation Collaborative, Inc. is recalling certain model year 2012-2015 Trans Tech Student Safety Transporter school buses manufactured between December 1, 2012, and April 23, 2015. The driver's side barrier on these vehicles may not deform properly in a crash, which could increase the risk of injury to vehicle occupants upon impact with the barrier. The vehicles do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Standard number 222 regarding school bus passenger seating and crash protection.
Owners will receive notification and a free retrofit kit with installation instructions to address this issue. The recall began on April 18, 2016, and an interim notice was distributed to owners on April 14, 2016.
