What happened

Collins Bus Corporation is recalling certain 2015 school bus models (DE416, DE416WR, DE500, DE516, DE516WR, DH400, DH416, DH416WR, DH500, DH516, SH400, SL400, TH400, and TL400) manufactured between May 1, 2015, and December 21, 2015, that are equipped with Transpec T6000, T6100, or T7000 series stop arms. The affected stop arms have reflective decals that may peel loose, which reduces the visibility of the stop arms to other drivers and increases the risk of crashes.

Collins will replace the stop arm blade assemblies at no cost to owners. The recall began February 22, 2016. Affected owners should contact Collins customer service at 1-800-533-1850 or Transpec customer service at 1-800-951-7867 to arrange for the replacement.

Hazard

Without a reflective decal, the stop arms would have reduced visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

What should I do?

Collins will notify owners, and the stop arm blade assemblies will be replaced, free of charge. The recall began on February 22, 2016. Owners may contact Collins customer service at 1-800-533-1850, or Transpec customer service at 1-800-951-7867.
