OBS, Inc. is recalling wheelchair lifts in certain buses from model years 2007 through 2012, including Chevrolet CG33803, Collins Midstar 20IS, Blue Bird A3FE2803a, and Blue Bird BBCV3011s vehicles. The affected lifts are Ricon Corporation models S2005, S2010, S5005, S5010, S5505, and S5510. The platform side plates on these lifts may crack, which could cause the lift platform to separate from the lift and rest against the vehicle's lift door. When the doors are opened, the platform may fall out, creating an injury risk to the lift operator.
To address this issue, OBS will notify bus owners to bring their vehicles to a Ricon dealer or service center for inspection and installation of supplemental platform support bumpers. If a platform has already begun cracking, it will be replaced at no cost. Affected owners should contact OBS customer service at 1-330-453-3725 and reference recall number OBS # 01-15.

The platform side plate of the affected wheelchair lifts may crack.
