Kraco Enterprises is recalling certain Who-Rae Butterfly Rose 3-piece seat cover kits that were manufactured between October 1 and October 31, 2015, and sold through AutoZone stores. The product packaging incorrectly states that the seat covers are safe for use in vehicles with seat-mounted side airbags, but the covers do not have the special side seams needed to allow airbags to deploy properly. If a driver is in a crash, these incompatible seat covers may prevent side airbags from deploying correctly, increasing the risk of injury.
To address this recall, Kraco will post signage at AutoZone stores where consumers can return the affected seat covers for either a full refund or a free replacement set of seat covers designed to work safely with seat-mounted side airbags. Consumers may also contact Kraco customer service at 1-800-678-1910 to receive a free refund or free replacement seat covers. The recall began on April 1, 2016.
