Polaris Industries is recalling certain 2015-2016 Slingshot motorcycles because the headlight relay may fail, causing the headlights to stop working and reducing driver visibility, which increases the risk of a crash. The affected motorcycles include standard Slingshot models manufactured from April 21, 2014, to October 22, 2015, Slingshot SL models manufactured from April 28, 2015, to October 23, 2015, and Slingshot SL SE models manufactured from December 15, 2014, to October 22, 2015.
To remedy the issue, Polaris will notify owners and dealers will replace the single headlight relay with a circuit using two headlight relays at no charge. The recall began on December 3, 2015. Affected owners should contact Slingshot customer service at 1-855-863-2284 to arrange the repair, and may reference Polaris recall number SLI-15-05.
