Kalmar Solutions, LLC is recalling certain 2010-2014 Ottawa tractors equipped with specific Cummins Westport ISL G engines manufactured between December 6, 2010, and July 21, 2014. Excessive engine crankcase pressures may cause a 90-degree elbow on the vent tube assembly to detach from the crankcase ventilation breather, which could allow engine oil to contact hot surfaces and create a fire risk.
To remedy the issue, dealers will secure the ends of the 90-degree elbow and reprogram the electronic control module with software to adjust engine output during misfire conditions and limit crankcase pressures. These repairs will be performed free of charge. Affected owners should contact Kalmar customer service at 1-785-229-6327 or Cummins customer service at 1-800-343-7357.
