What happened

Ferrari North America, Inc. is recalling certain 2014-2015 LaFerrari vehicles manufactured between May 15, 2014, and March 4, 2015. These vehicles have a defective tire pressure monitoring system that displays an incorrect warning message when a tire is punctured. Instead of warning drivers not to proceed, the system shows "Low Tyre Pressure-Max speed 50 mph," which may lead drivers to continue operating the vehicle on a damaged tire, potentially causing loss of vehicle control and increasing crash risk.

Ferrari dealers will update the tire pressure monitoring system software at no cost to owners to correct the warning message. The recall began on July 17, 2015. Owners of affected vehicles should contact Ferrari North America customer service at 1-866-551-2828 to schedule the software update, and should reference recall number 56.
