What happened

Forest River, Inc. is recalling certain 2015-2016 Coachmen Freelander vehicles manufactured between February 14, 2014, and April 1, 2015, and 2015 Coachmen Leprechaun vehicles manufactured on June 10, 2014. These vehicles, built on a Ford 158" wheelbase chassis with a 5.4L V-8 engine, have Federal Certification labels with incorrect information about gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR), gross axle weight rating (GAWR), and cargo carrying capacity. If operators rely on these incorrect labels, they could overload the trailer, which increases the risk of a crash.

Forest River will notify owners and provide replacement labels with corrected information at no charge. The recall began on April 17, 2015. Affected consumers should contact Coachmen customer service at 1-800-453-6064 and reference Forest River's recall number 51-04172015-0031.

Hazard

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Coachmen Freelander vehicles manufactured February 14, 2014, to April 1, 2015, and 2015 Coachmen Leprechaun vehicles manufactured on June 10, 2014. The affected vehicles, manufactured on a Ford 158" wheelbase chassis with a 5.4L V-8 engine, may have a Federal Certification label that lists an incorrect gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR), gross axle weight rating (GAWR) and wrong cargo carrying capacity information. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."
