2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
General Motors is recalling certain 2014 Chevrolet Impala vehicles manufactured between November 15, 2012, and May 30, 2014. These vehicles have a defect in the electronic parking brake system where the piston actuation arm may not fully retract, causing the brake pads to remain partially engaged with the rotors. This condition can cause excessive brake heat that may result in a fire.
To remedy this issue, GM will notify owners and dealers will reprogram the electronic parking brake control module with new software at no charge. The recall began on March 5, 2015. Affected owners should contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, referencing GM recall number 15100. This recall applies to a limited population of vehicles that were previously remedied incorrectly under recall 14V-541.
