Is my product affected?

2014 MACK PINNACLE (CXU); 2015 MACK PINNACLE (CXU)

  • Brand MACK

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Mack Trucks is recalling certain 2014-2015 CXU trucks manufactured between June 1, 2013, and November 28, 2014, because they may have an 88-liter air brake reservoir instead of the required 96-liter reservoir. The smaller reservoir may not provide sufficient air pressure for the brakes, which could increase the distance needed to stop the truck and raise the risk of a crash.

To remedy this issue, Mack will notify owners and authorize dealers to install a larger air brake reservoir tank at no cost. Affected owners should contact Mack customer service at 1-800-528-6586 and reference recall number SC0389 to arrange service.

Hazard

If the truck unexpectedly requires extra distance to stop, there is an increased risk of a crash.

What should I do?

Mack will notify owners, and dealers will install a larger air brake reservoir tank, free of charge. The recall began April 1, 2015. Owners may contact Mack customer service at 1-800-528-6586. Mack's number for this recall is SC0389.
