Mack Trucks is recalling certain 2010-2015 CXU trucks manufactured between November 20, 2009, and January 27, 2014, that are equipped with dual vertical exhaust pipes. The white reflectors on the rear of the cab can become blocked by the exhaust pipes, making the truck-tractor less visible when operating without a trailer in dark conditions and increasing crash risk. These vehicles do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard requirements for reflective devices.
If you own an affected truck, Mack will notify you and arrange for a dealer to inspect your vehicle at no charge. If the reflectors are found to be blocked, dealers will install two vertical white reflectors on the rear glass. To arrange service or for more information, contact Mack Customer Service at 1-336-393-2000 and reference recall number SC0378.
