What happened

Nissan is recalling certain 2008–2013 Nissan Rogue vehicles and 2014 Nissan Rogue Select vehicles because an electrical short can occur in the harness connector on the driver side floor, potentially causing a vehicle fire. The short can develop when snow, water, and salt seep through the carpet and into the harness connector. The recall affects vehicles manufactured between March 7, 2007, and July 2, 2014.

Nissan will notify owners and dealers will inspect the kick panel wiring harness connector at no charge, installing a new connector and waterproof seal if necessary. The recall began February 26, 2015. Affected consumers should contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.
