Thor Motor Coach is recalling certain 2015 model year motorhomes (including Challenger, Four Winds 5000, Hurricane, Miramar, Chateau Citation, Chateau, Windsport, and Palazzo models) manufactured between April 24, 2014, and December 11, 2014, that are equipped with certain Latitude awnings made by Carefree of Colorado. The screws that attach the lateral arm brackets to the mounting brackets may not meet specifications and could fail, causing the supporting bracket to fail and the awning to fall and potentially strike and injure someone beneath it.
Thor Motor Coach dealers will remove and replace the defective screws free of charge. The recall began January 23, 2015. Owners of affected motorhomes should contact TMC customer service at 1-877-500-1020 or reference recall number RC000097 to arrange service with a dealer.
