Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Forest River, Inc. is recalling certain Starcraft Bus transit buses from model years 2006-2012 (specifically the Xpress, Starquest, Starlite, Allstar, Allstar XL, MVP, Ultrastar, and XLT models manufactured between June 1, 2006, and February 27, 2012) that are equipped with certain Ricon Corporation wheelchair lifts. The affected lifts are models S2005, S2010, S5005, S5010, S5505, and S5510. The problem is that the platform side plates on these lifts may crack, which can cause the lift platform to separate from the lift and rest against the vehicle's lift door.
When the lift doors are opened, a cracked platform could fall out of the bus, potentially injuring the lift operator. To fix this problem, Starcraft Bus will notify all owners and direct them to take their buses to a Ricon dealer or service center, where supplemental platform support bumpers will be installed at no cost. Any platform that has already started cracking will be replaced free of charge. The recall began in January 2015. Owners should contact Starcraft Bus customer service at 1-800-348-7440 or Ricon customer service at 1-800-322-2884.
