Utility Truck Equipment Company is recalling certain model year 2010-2013 aerial trucks (models UTLI41A, UTLN41, and UTLN46) manufactured between December 2010 and September 2013. These trucks, equipped with certain Muncie Power Products PTO Assemblies and installed on Ford F-350, F-450, and F-550 vehicles, have a defect where oil may leak from the PTO pressure switch onto a thermal blanket that covers the exhaust system.
If oil soaks into the thermal blanket and combines with heat from the exhaust, there is an increased risk of fire. To remedy this issue, dealers will install a new pressure switch kit that relocates the switch away from the exhaust system at no cost to owners. The recall began in June 2014. Affected owners should contact Utility Truck customer service at 1-254-857-8813 to have the repair performed.
