General Motors is recalling certain 2005-2007 Chevrolet Corvette vehicles manufactured between March 29, 2004, and June 22, 2007, because the underhood bussed electrical center housing can expand and bend the headlamp low beam relay control circuit wire. If this wire is repeatedly bent, it may fracture and cause the low beam headlamps to stop working, reducing the driver's ability to see the road and making the vehicle less visible to other drivers, which increases the risk of a crash.
GM will notify affected owners, and authorized Chevrolet dealers will install a jumper wire to fix the problem at no cost. Model year 2008-2013 Chevrolet Corvettes with the same issue will be covered under customer satisfaction program number 14203. Owners of affected vehicles should contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, and they can reference GM recall number 13146.
