2014 INTERNATIONAL PROSTAR
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Navistar, Inc. is recalling certain 2014 International Prostar trucks manufactured between September and December 2013 that are equipped with specific rear axle configurations. These vehicles may have axle shafts of incorrect length installed, which can cause the spline connections to only partially engage with the side gears in the rear axle differential. This partial engagement could lead to failure of the axle shaft splines or side gears, potentially resulting in loss of power to the drive wheels and causing the vehicle to stall while on the roadway.
Owners of affected vehicles will be notified by Navistar, and authorized dealers will replace the incorrect wheel hubs and axle shafts with correct ones at no charge, along with any damaged side gears. The recall began on March 18, 2014. Affected owners should contact Navistar at 1-800-448-7825 and reference recall number 14506.
