Jayco is recalling certain 2013 and 2014 model year recreational vehicles, including the Eagle Premiere, Jay Feather Ultra Lite, Jay Flight, Jay Flight Swift, Octane, White Hawk, Eagle, Eagle HT, Jay Flight Bungalow, Jay Flight Destination, Pinnacle, Redhawk, Seismic, and Precept models. If the awning installation sequence is not completely followed during manufacturing, the awning motor may become damaged without the owner's knowledge. If motor damage occurs, the awning can unfurl unexpectedly either while the motorhome is parked or while driving, which could cause personal injury or a vehicle crash.
Jayco will notify owners about this recall, and dealers will inspect and replace the awning motor at no charge. The recall began on May 23, 2013. Affected consumers should contact Jayco at 1-800-283-8267 for more information.
