2013 FORD F-53

  • Brand FORD

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Ford is recalling certain 2013 F-53 motorhome stripped chassis vehicles manufactured between July 10, 2012 and July 13, 2012 due to a steering hazard. These vehicles were assembled with incorrect fasteners that secure the steering gear adapter plate. Over time, these fasteners can lose tension, potentially causing the steering gear to loosen and separate from the vehicle, which could result in loss of vehicle control and increase the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the steering gear adapter plate retention fasteners at no charge. The recall was completed on September 7, 2012. Owners of affected vehicles should contact Ford at 1-866-436-7332.
