What happened

Nissan is recalling certain 2010 and 2011 Sentra vehicles manufactured between May 22, 2010, and July 8, 2010. The positive battery terminal cable end may have a machining irregularity that allows a gap to form in the contact area, causing a voltage drop that can make the vehicle difficult to start or cause engine control module damage. This defect can cause the engine to stop running while the vehicle is in motion at low speed, increasing the risk of a crash.

Dealers will replace the positive battery terminal cable end with a new one at no cost. The recall began on November 29, 2010. Affected consumers should contact Nissan at 1-800-647-7261.
