Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Collins is recalling certain 2008 and 2009 school buses (Super Bantam, Grand Bantam, Super Guide, and Grand Guide models) built on Ford and Chevrolet platforms between March 31, 2008 and July 31, 2009. These buses were equipped with Specialty Manufacturing, Inc. (SMI) 000290 LED light kits on the stop arm assembly. A change to the wire used in the LED light kits may reduce the effective life of the lights, and they may stop functioning without warning.
If the LED lights stop working, the visibility of a stopped bus would be decreased, which increases the risk that a child or other pedestrian near the bus could be struck by a passing vehicle. Collins will notify owners and will replace the light kits free of charge. Owners of affected buses may contact Collins toll-free at 1-800-533-1850. The recall began on December 17, 2010.

COLLINS WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND LIGHT KITS WILL BE REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON DECEMBER 17, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT COLLINS TOLL-FREE AT 1-800-533-1850.
