Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Ford is recalling certain 2010 model year Fusion, Explorer, Explorer Sport Trac, Mercury Milan, and Mountaineer vehicles manufactured between December 15, 2009 and February 3, 2010 that are equipped with front seat manual recliners. The recliner gear plate teeth may be out of specification, which could result in limited engagement between the pawl and gear plate teeth. In a crash, this defect could allow the seatback and head restraint to move rearward, increasing the risk of injury.
Dealers will replace the manual recliners for both power and manual seats at no charge to owners. The recall was expected to begin on or before April 30, 2010. Owners of affected vehicles should contact Ford at 1-866-436-7332.
