What happened

Terex is recalling certain Texoma 330 Auger Drills from model years 1999 through 2009 that are equipped with a telescoping polesetter extension mounted on trucks. These vehicles are pressure diggers used to drill holes and handle poles. A defect in the hydraulic cylinder that controls the polesetter extension can cause unintended movement of up to 4 to 6 inches when other functions are operated, which poses a risk of death or serious injury to the operator.

Terex will notify owners and repair the affected vehicles free of charge. The recall began on April 16, 2010. Owners of recalled vehicles should contact Terex's Utilities Warranty Department at 1-605-884-3892 to arrange for the repair.

TEREX WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND WILL REPAIR THE VEHICLES FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 16, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT TEREX'S UTILITIES WARRANTY DEPARTMENT AT 1-605-884-3892.

TEREX TELELECT IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 1999 THROUGH 2009 TEXOMA 330 AUGER DRILLS WITH TELESCOPING POLESETTER EXTENSION MOUNTED ON TRUCKS. THE VEHICLES INVOLVED UTILIZED A HYDRAULIC CYLINDER TO ARTICULATE THE POLESETTER EXTENSION. THE VEHICLES ARE PRESSURE DIGGERS USED TO DRILL HOLES AND HANDLE POLES. THE EXTENSION CAN HAVE UNINTENDED MOVEMENT UP TO 4 TO 6 INCHES WHEN OTHER FUNCTIONS ARE OPERATED.
