DETROIT DIESEL EFILL
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Certain EPA07 Series 60 engines manufactured by Detroit Diesel between January 1, 2007 and April 20, 2009 and installed in emergency vehicles may shut down unexpectedly when the diesel particulate filter becomes too hot. This unexpected shutdown could interfere with rescue operations and endanger first responders or the public.
Daimler Trucks North America will reprogram the engine control software at no cost to owners. Instead of shutting down the engine, the reprogrammed software will only illuminate a malfunction indicator light when an over-temperature condition is detected. Owners of affected vehicles should contact Detroit Diesel at 1-313-592-5800 or Daimler Trucks at 1-800-547-0712 to arrange the free service, which began on May 17, 2010.
