A decorative Father Christmas figure standing 27 cm tall has been recalled because its hand and pine cone can detach too easily and pose a choking hazard to young children. When tested, these parts separated at forces lower than safety standards require, and they are small enough to fit entirely into a small parts cylinder. The product does not meet the requirements of the Toys Directive and the European safety standard EN-71. The figure is dressed in a red pointed hat, yellow coat with white fur trim, white boots, and spectacles, and holds a white bell in one hand and a red sack in the other. In view of its foreseeable misuse, the product must be just as safe as a soft toy for children under the age of three.The product does not comply with the Toys Directive and the relevant European standard EN-71.
