Calekohcad brand toy binoculars (marked SHUANG JIAN model SJ4X46 on the product and ROYAL TOYS on packaging) have been recalled due to a chemical hazard. The eyepiece butts are made from softened PVC and contain 4.25% by weight of DEHP, a phthalate chemical. European regulations prohibit phthalates in toys and child care products at concentrations higher than 0.1% by weight, making this product's chemical content significantly exceed the legal limit and pose a serious health risk to children.
The distributor and retailers are voluntarily withdrawing the product from the market and recalling it from consumers. The toy binoculars are silver-black in color and marked with model number SJ4X46 and CE marking.
