Bestway SURF AND SUN inflatable swim rings (64cm diameter, model 8855, #36021) with sea animal designs have been recalled due to dangerous levels of di-isononyl phthalate (DINP), a phthalate chemical. The valve contains 0.20% by weight of DINP and the pink plastic contains 11.5% by weight of DINP, both exceeding the legal limit of 0.1% by weight allowed in children's products under European regulations. The product poses a serious health risk to children.

The product poses a chemical risk because:- the valve contains 0,20 % by weight of di-isononyl phthalate (DINP),- the pink plastic foil contains 11,5 % by weight of di-isononyl phthalate (DINP).According to Directive 2005/84/EC phthalates shall not be used in the toys and the products designed for a care for a child in concentration higher than of 0,1 % by weight. The product poses a serious risk for the health of a child.
