Biaoda brand toy and candy products shaped like aeroplanes, frogs, fish, rabbits, helicopters, elephants, tanks, turtles, and dinosaurs have been recalled due to safety hazards. These multicolored hard plastic toys are each attached to a transparent plastic tube filled with sweets. The toys contain small parts that detach easily and can fit into a small parts cylinder, creating a choking risk for young children. The products do not meet safety requirements under the Toys Directive and European standard EN 71.
Authorities have ordered the withdrawal of these products from the market. Affected models include items numbered NO.671 and YWA-271, among others, manufactured in China and distributed from Cyprus. The record does not specify what consumers should do if they have purchased these products.

The products contain small parts which may easily be detached with minimum force. The small parts fit entirely into the small parts cylinder, and young children may therefore put them in their mouth with the risk of choking. The toys are in the shape of an aeroplane, frog, fish, rabbit, helicopter funny (elephant), tank turtle and dinosaur and are made of multicoloured hard plastic. Each figure is attached to a transparent plastic tube which is filled with sweets. The toys have a label indicating the barcode, the model of the item, country of manufacture (China), the ingredients of the sweets, which are also from China and a warning “Unsuitable for children under 3 years old. Small pieces, danger of choking”. On each toy an engraved inscription indicates the brand of the toy, which is “BIAODA”. Model: 1.
