Yamaha is recalling the 2022 Competition Off-Road Motorcycles with model numbers YZ125N2L and YZ125N2ME sold in Blue and Monster Energy Racing Edition colors. The gear shift assembly on these motorcycles can detach from the crankcase, which can cause unintentional gear shifting and create a crash hazard. The affected motorcycles have vehicle identification numbers (VINs) in the range *CE34C*000301 through *CE34C*004096. The model number can be found printed on both the right and left sides of the motorcycle, and the VIN is stamped on the frame steering head.
If you own one of these motorcycles, you should immediately stop using it and contact your local Yamaha dealer to schedule a free repair. Yamaha is contacting all registered owners directly to inform them of this recall.
