What happened

American Outdoor Brands is recalling Caldwell rechargeable lithium-battery packs (SKU 1108859) that were included with black E-Max Pro BT Earmuffs (SKU 1099596). The battery packs, which are housed in one of the earmuffs and measure 1.25 inches x 1.5 inches with a gray exterior and Caldwell branding, pose a fire and burn hazard. Defective soldering inside the battery pack housing can cause wiring to detach, which allows the unit to overheat. The earmuffs are designed to provide hearing protection while shooting firearms and can alternatively operate using three AAA alkaline batteries.

Consumers who own these earmuffs should immediately remove the recalled lithium-battery pack. Affected consumers should contact American Outdoor Brands for disposal instructions that comply with local laws and to receive free replacement alkaline batteries with shipping included.
