What happened

Approximately one million Greenworks and Powerworks pressure washer spray guns are being recalled because the spray gun connector can break during use, causing the hose and connector parts to become dislodged and potentially strike the user. The recalled products include various Greenworks brand pressure washers ranging from 1500 to 1800 psi manufactured between January 2017 and July 2020, a Greenworks plastic gun accessory kit, and certain Powerworks brand pressure washers rated at 1700 to 1800 psi manufactured in early 2020. The spray guns can be identified by the Greenworks or Powerworks brand name on the side of the gun and a black plastic interior connector where the gun attaches to the hose.

According to the recall notice, affected consumers should immediately stop using the recalled spray guns and contact Hongkong Sun Rise Trading for a free replacement spray gun handle.

This recall involves the Greenworks brand 2000 psi plastic pressure washer spray gun included in: the Greenworks brand 2000 psi Plastic Gun Accessory kit, Greenworks brand Pressure Washer models ranging from 1500 -1800 psi, and certain Powerworks brand Pressure Washer models ranging from 1700-1800 psi. The model number is printed on the back of the pressure washer unit, near the top. The brand, Greenworks or Powerworks, appears on the side of the pressure washer spray gun. In addition, when the spray gun is removed from the hose, the interior connector is made of black plastic, not metal, on recalled units.
