Goal Zero is recalling two power cable models used with Yeti power stations and tanks due to a fire hazard. The 12-foot EC8 Extension Cable (model 98201) and Male EC8 to Ring Cable (model 98202) have connector pins that can deform and overheat. The extension cable was sold individually and with the Car Charge Kit, while the ring cable was sold individually and with various Yeti Tanks. Both cables are used to connect Yeti power stations to tanks or vehicle batteries.
Consumers who own these recalled cables should immediately stop using them. According to the recall, affected consumers should contact Goal Zero for a free replacement cable. Consumers can identify recalled products by checking the model numbers (98201 or 98202) or UPC codes (847974006474 or 847974006481) on the product packaging, receipts, or invoices.

This recall involves only the 12-foot EC8 Extension cables (model 98201) and Male EC8 to Ring cables (model 98202) that are installed in vehicle integrations. The 12-foot EC8 Extension cable was sold individually and with the Car Charge Kit. This cable was used to connect Yeti power stations to either a Yeti Tank or a vehicle battery. The Male EC8 to Ring cable was sold individually and with different Yeti Tanks. These cables are used to connect Yeti Tanks to Yeti power stations and are frequently coupled with the 12-foot EC8 Extension cable.
