What happened

Marshall Group is recalling Marshall Gardens PatioGlo bio-fuel gel sold in 32-ounce clear plastic bottles. The pourable gel fuel can ignite unexpectedly and expel onto people and nearby objects when poured into a firepot that is still burning, particularly if the consumer does not see the flame or realize the firepot is still lit. The gel fuel is designed to be poured into a metal cup in the center of ceramic firepots or other decorative lighting devices. The recalled products include the standard PatioGlo bio-fuel gel (Model PG-32, SKU 845095015023) and the Citronella PatioGlo version (Model PGC-32, SKU 845095015030).

When gel fuel expels and ignites, it can pose serious fire and burn risks to consumers, potentially resulting in fatal injuries. According to the recall notice, consumers should immediately stop using the pourable gel fuel in firepots and return all bottles to the company for a full refund.

Hazard
