Electric Motion Systems, LLC is recalling black lithium-poly 37 volt, 10Ah battery packs used in electric bicycles and propulsion systems due to a fire hazard. The batteries can overheat and catch fire. The recalled batteries measure 8.75 inches x 5.75 inches x 3.25 inches and have an "E+" label on the side. Affected units have "EMS# 11819-101" printed at the top right of the label with serial numbers between 10001 and 10200. These batteries were sold individually and as part of E+ Flex Kits, which are complete propulsion systems.
Consumers who own affected battery packs should immediately stop using them. Since the firm is out of business and no remedy is available, consumers should dispose of the battery packs according to federal, state, and local regulations.
