Bicycles Recalled by Trek Due to Fall Hazard

Is my product affected?

Trek 2012 FX and District bicycles

  • Brand Trek Bicycle Corporation, of Waterloo, Wisc.

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Trek is recalling certain 2012 bicycle models because the bolt securing the seat saddle clamp to the seat post can break, creating a fall hazard. The affected models are the Trek 7.2 FX, 7.3 FX, 7.4 FX, 7.5 FX, District, 9th District, and their WSD, Livestrong, and Disc variants. You can identify your bicycle's model by looking at the name on the frame and determine the year by checking the last two digits of the SKU number stamped on the bottom bracket near the pedals—if it shows "12," your bike is affected.

If you own one of these recalled bicycles, you should stop riding it immediately and contact an authorized Trek dealer to receive a free replacement bolt.
