What happened

Apple and the CPSC have recalled AC adapters for prior generation PowerBook laptops because they could overheat and pose a fire hazard. The recall covers only adapters with a two-pin connector that came with Apple Macintosh PowerBooks or were sold separately—not Titanium PowerBook G4 or iBook power adapters. The recalled adapter is a small rectangular black box approximately 4.75 inches long by 2 inches wide, with a permanently attached cord connecting to the computer and a detachable two-prong cord for AC outlets. The label reads "Macintosh PowerBook 45W AC Adapter" with model number M4402.
