What happened

Yamaha is recalling model year 2017 through 2019 golf cars, personal transportation, specialty vehicles, and utility vehicles because the module that regulates power to the vehicles' USB ports can overheat and melt, creating a fire hazard. The recalled vehicles include the Drive2 Fleet DC and AC models, Adventurer Two AC, UMAX TWO AC, UMAX Rally AC, and UMAX Rally 2+2 AC in various colors. Owners can identify their vehicle's model and serial number on a label located under the seat or cargo bed on the left or right side.

According to the recall, affected consumers should immediately stop using the USB charging device in their recalled vehicles and contact a Yamaha golf car dealer to schedule a free repair. Yamaha is contacting all registered owners directly.
